Chandigarh. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has given a statement that he will appear before Sri Akal Takht Sahib on January 15. Sri Akal Takht Sahib had issued a formal summons to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, asking him to appear in person on January 15 to explain his stand. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann informed on social media platform ‘X’ on Tuesday that he is ready to appear on January 15 at 10 am. Addressing Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Bhagwant Mann wrote, “I have no other work on January 15. I have also informed the President’s office. As per your orders, the day of January 15 is completely dedicated to Sri Akal Takht Sahib. No official letter or statement has been issued by me or the office regarding changing the timings. I am ready to be present on January 15 at 10 am.”
However, Sri Akal Takht Sahib has given Bhagwant Mann time to appear before him on January 15 at 4.30 pm. An official letter said, “Under a letter dated January 5, you were called to give your explanation at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Sri Amritsar on January 15 at 10 am, but in the statement issued by you in this regard, your busyness has been mentioned. Therefore, as per the order issued by Singh Sahib Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib, it is written that now you have been called to give your explanation on January 15 at 04.30 pm. We have to reach Shri Akal Takht Sahib at 12:00.”
At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is demanding investigation into a so-called video of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. BJP’s Punjab unit chief Sunil Jakhar wrote on social media platform
Sunil Jakhar also wrote a letter to the GDP of Punjab on Monday. He said that a video allegedly showing disrespectful behavior and disrespect of the Punjab Chief Minister is going viral. In this matter, a letter has been written to the DGP demanding immediate forensic investigation and appropriate legal action.
