Chandigarh. Punjab Police has arrested three accused involved in drugs and drug smuggling and sent them behind bars. The police is currently interrogating them and trying to gather complete information about the case. The police clearly say that if any information related to this case comes to light about any accused, then any kind of negligence will not be accepted in taking strict action against him. Police has given information about this action on its social media X handle. According to the police, 5.775 kg heroin, 1,33,640 banned capsules/pills, 39 cartridges and Rs 36,600 cash have been recovered from these accused. Police have registered a case against these accused under NDPS Act. At present the investigation of the entire matter is going on.
Police said that on the basis of interrogation of the accused who have been arrested, the entire network is being traced so that information can be revealed as to who are the people involved in it and what kind of roles they are performing. If anyone is found involved in illegal activities, strict action will be taken against him.
Police say that such action is necessary to make Punjab drug free. Our only objective is to make Punjab drug free and our entire action will continue in this direction. We do not want the youth of Punjab to be found involved in any kind of drug trafficking.
Let us tell you that drugs are continuously smuggled from across the border in Punjab. Police has taken many major actions in this matter till now. Earlier, Punjab Police had recovered 30 kg of heroin during an operation on June 11. The accused arrested in this case were in contact with smugglers sitting in Dubai and with their help they used to smuggle narcotics into Punjab.
