Lucknow, April 8 (). Expressing deep condolences on the damage caused to Rabi crops due to untimely rain, hailstorm and incidents of fire at some places, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to take prompt, transparent and sensitive action. In a high-level review meeting held in this regard on Wednesday morning, the Chief Minister said that it is natural for the farmers to be worried in this adverse situation and the state government stands with the farmers with full commitment.

The Chief Minister directed that immediate compensation should be ensured by making an accurate, fair and timely assessment of the loss of every affected farmer and sharecropper. He said that by establishing effective coordination between the revenue, agriculture and other related departments at the district level, a survey should be conducted immediately and the report should be sent to the government, so that there is no delay in the distribution of relief.

The Chief Minister directed for prompt settlement of crop insurance claims by establishing active coordination with insurance companies. He said that the officers themselves should contact the farmers and ensure that they get the benefits of insurance schemes, so that maximum relief can be provided.

Instructing the Revenue Department, the Chief Minister said that adequate funds should be made immediately available to each district from the State Disaster Relief Fund. The District Magistrate should ensure that assistance is provided to the affected farmers in a prompt and transparent manner. Wherever necessary, relief camps should be established and all possible support should be provided to the farmers through market committees.

Taking special sensitivity on the incidents of fire, the Chief Minister directed that in case of loss of life or loss of animals, relief money should be made available within 24 hours. Also, eligible beneficiaries should be benefited soon under the Farmers Accident Insurance Scheme. The Chief Minister also directed that the families whose houses have been damaged or destroyed should be provided houses on priority basis under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. The Chief Minister told the officials that any kind of negligence in relief and rehabilitation works would be unforgivable and accountability of the concerned officials would be fixed for this.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is standing with every farmer, farmer family and sharecropper in this hour of disaster with full sensitivity, promptness and commitment and providing them all possible assistance is the top priority of the government.
