World Cup Final: The final match of the Women’s World Cup 2025 between India and South Africa will be played on 2 November (Sunday) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The eyes of the entire country are fixed on this historic match. The command of the Indian team will be in the hands of Harmanpreet Kaur, while the captain of South Africa will be Laura Wolvaardt.

This will be the second face-to-face between the two teams in this tournament. When India and South Africa clashed in the league stage, the match was very exciting and South Africa won by three wickets. Now both the teams will once again face each other in the final, where there will be a fierce battle between the ball and the bat. The outcome of this match will depend on some important encounters. If the Indian bowlers create pressure in the initial overs and batsmen like Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues give a good start, then Team India will have a golden chance to win the title. On the other hand, if South African players like Laura Wolvaardt and Nadine de Klerk continue in their rhythm, then the final will not be easy for India. Let us know those five important matches, which can decide the course of this final.

India’s powerplay bowling vs South Africa’s top order

When the two teams met in a league match on October 9, the Indian bowlers made a brilliant start and forced South Africa to lose two wickets for 18 runs. Even in the final, India will try to put pressure on Africa by giving initial shocks. The pair of Laura Wolvaardt and Tajmin Britts will be important for South Africa. Wolvaardt is the highest run-scorer in this World Cup, while Tajmin’s performance has been good in some matches and weak in others. In the last match against India, she was out without scoring a run. Fast bowler Kranti Gaur had impressed everyone by getting him caught and bowled. This time when Renuka Singh Thakur will also be a part of the bowling attack, there may be more pressure on South Africa’s opening batting.

smriti mandhana vs marijane capp

This match will be between two star players. Marizanne Cap is the most successful bowler of this World Cup, while Smriti Mandhana is currently the number-1 batsman in ODI cricket. Cap took five wickets against England in the semi-finals. At the same time, Mandhana has so far scored two half-centuries and one century in the tournament. Interestingly, Cap has dismissed Mandhana only once so far, but Mandhana’s strike rate against him has been 62. That means this clash is going to be very close and exciting.

Jemimah Rodrigues vs South African Spinners

Jemimah Rodrigues played a brilliant inning of 127 not out in the semi-final against Australia. However, in the league match against South Africa, she returned to the pavilion without opening the account. South Africa plan to use their left-arm spinners – Chloe Tryon and Nonkululeko Mlaba – in the final to contain them. Last time Jemima’s wicket was taken by Tryon. This time Jemima will have to rely on both her technique and patience while playing with a calm mind in the final.

Deepti Sharma vs South African right handed batsmen

Off-spinner Deepti Sharma is one of the most successful bowlers of this tournament. She has taken 17 wickets so far and is equal to Australia’s Annabel Sutherland. In the last match, Deepti had taken the wicket of Anneke Bosch of South Africa early, but later some runs were wasted. In the final, Deepti will be expected to make full use of her experience and make a breakthrough for the team in the middle overs. His performance against South Africa’s right-handed batsmen can decide the outcome of the match.

Nadine de Klerk vs India’s death bowling

In the last match, Nadine Declercq gave a spectacular victory to South Africa by scoring unbeaten 84 runs in just 54 balls against India. His fast batting remains the biggest threat for India. In the final, India will have to decide what strategy to adopt against them in the last overs, whether the left-arm spinners will get a chance or the fast bowlers will be trusted. This decision of captain Harmanpreet Kaur can change the outcome of the match.
