Ajmer. The post of Chairman, which was lying vacant for the last 4 years in Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), has finally been appointed. According to the notification issued by the Education Department on Saturday, Hanuman Singh Rathore has been made the new chairman of the board. His tenure will be for three years and he will formally assume charge on Monday. Hanuman Singh Rathore, originally a resident of Pisangan in Ajmer district, has long experience in the education sector. He has been a principal of a government school, who took voluntary retirement (VRS) in the year 2019, about one and a quarter years before his retirement. Apart from this, he has also served in various important positions in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). As soon as the news of his appointment was received, there was a rush of people congratulating him at his Bhunabai residence.
Smooth conduct of examinations and quality of education first priority: Rathod
After nomination, Hanuman Singh Rathore clarified his priorities and said that smooth and transparent conduct of examinations will be his biggest priority. He said, “There is a challenge in every work, but since I have been associated with the education world all my life, I am well acquainted with the functioning of the board. Our focus will be on the successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) along with the upgradation of children and teachers. It is very important not only to bring good exam results, but also to bring qualitative improvement in education.”
The post was vacant after the REET paper leak scandal.
It is noteworthy that after the REET paper leak issue gained prominence in January 2022, the then government appointed the then chairman of the board D.P. Jaroli was dismissed. Since then this prestigious post was continuously vacant. In this much talked about paper leak case, Special Operations Group (SOG) has so far arrested 131 accused including main accused Ramkripal Meena and Pradeep Parashar. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also investigating this case, which had frozen the bank accounts of the main accused in September 2024.
Now after a long wait of 4 years, a big responsibility will be on the shoulders of Hanuman Singh Rathore to further strengthen the credibility of the board and conduct the upcoming examinations without any controversy.
