Strict action against those who install unauthorized red-blue lights, hooters, black film and illegal number plates
Jaipur. As per the instructions of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the mega campaign launched by Rajasthan Police in the entire state against those flouting traffic rules and flaunting illegal hooter lights is now at its peak. Despite the holiday on the seventh day of the campaign i.e. Sunday, June 07, police teams carried out intensive blockade on the roads. In this single day, strict punitive and legal action has been taken against a record 9,523 vehicles across the state. Regarding the ongoing campaign under the supervision of DG Traffic Anil Paliwal, Additional Director General of Police Traffic Dr. BL Meena said that on this day also the maximum action was taken against the black film installed on the windshields of vehicles against the orders of the Supreme Court and number plates against the rules. Category-wise details of the entire action are as follows: Black film on vehicle mirrors: 3,491 vehicles, Illegal number plates and registration marks: 2,643 vehicles, Unauthorized words, signs and writings on vehicles: 1,313 vehicles, Illegal changes in vehicle structure (body/chassis): 811 vehicles, Unauthorized red-blue lights, flashers, strobe lights and hooters: 741 vehicles, Noise pollution. Dispersive pressure horns/air horns: 524 vehicles.
Kota city’s dominance continues, Ajmer-Bundi police catches pace
On Sunday also, Kota city police remained on top in the state by taking action against a total of 830 vehicles including 117 body modification, 379 illegal number plate and 78 black film cases. Bundi Police, showing tremendous promptness, issued challans to 459 vehicles in a single day, out of which 101 were cases of illegal lights/flashers. Ajmer Police took action against 570 drivers.
Sunday proceedings of Jaipur Commissionerate and Jaipur Division
The traffic police team in Jaipur Commissionerate remained in full action mode on Sunday, under which action was taken against a total of 450 vehicles, including maximum 275 black film and 84 illegal number plate cases. Talking about other districts of the Commissionerate, action was registered against 30 vehicles in Jaipur North, 91 in Jaipur South, 60 in Jaipur East and 10 in Jaipur West.
Among the districts of Jaipur division, the newly formed Kotputli-Behror district was at the forefront, where the police impounded a record 372 vehicles for violating the rules, in which the maximum 189 cases were of faulty number plates. Apart from this, showing promptness in other districts of the division, Alwar Police took strict legal action against 37 vehicles, Bhiwadi Police 88, Dausa Police 112 and Jaipur Rural Police 98 vehicles.
Sunday proceedings of Jodhpur Commissionerate and Jodhpur Division
The traffic police team in Jodhpur Commissionerate conducted a special blockade on Sunday and cracked down on a total of 184 vehicles, including 107 black film cases. Along with this, Jodhpur West Police impounded 108 vehicles and Jodhpur East Police impounded 39 vehicles for violating traffic rules and illegal modifications.
If we look at the situation of the districts of Jodhpur division, the border district Jaisalmer remained at the forefront, where the police took major action against a total of 140 vehicles including 95 black film cases. After this, Jodhpur Rural Police took strict legal action against 151 vehicles, 108 in Barmer, 92 in Phalodi, 96 in Balotra and 58 in Jalore district.
ADG Dr. Meena said that ignoring the rules will not be tolerated. Writing the name of post, caste or organization unauthorizedly on vehicles, blowing hooters to show influence and roaming around under the cover of black film is a crime under law. This police campaign will continue with more strictness in the coming days, hence all citizens should operate vehicles in a lawful manner.
