Kusum Singh, Administrator/Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Rarh of Deeg district, has been selected as the Mahila Beacon Leader in the National Conference of Women Panchayat Representatives organized by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India. This prestigious national conference will be held in New Delhi on 11 March 2026, in which selected women sarpanches from every state across the country will participate. The special thing is that Kusum Singh, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Rarh, has been selected as the only woman Sarpanch from Rajasthan state to participate in this conference. According to the letter issued by the Panchayati Raj Department of the Government of Rajasthan, Kusum Singh has been nominated in this national conference on behalf of the state of Rajasthan in view of her effective leadership at the Gram Panchayat level, public welfare works and active role in rural development. This selection is being considered a matter of great pride not only for Gram Panchayat Rarh but also for the entire Deeg district.
This national conference is being organized with the aim of empowering the leadership of women Panchayat representatives and making their role more effective in rural administration. The conference will provide a platform to women representatives from across the country, where they will share their experiences and discuss various topics related to development at the Panchayat level.
During the program, important topics like women leadership, administrative decision making process in Gram Panchayats, social harmony, women empowerment, rural development, cleanliness, education, health and public participation at the village level will be discussed in detail by experts, policy makers and public representatives.
Experiences of Mahila Panchayat representatives will be shared in various sessions of the conference and they will also be provided guidance on topics like leadership ability, communication skills, decision making process and effective participation in Gram Sabhas. Besides, the women beacon leaders selected from each state will be specially honored and their excellent works will be presented at the national level.
The special thing is that Kusum Singh will also be honored by the Government of India in view of the efforts made in developing Gram Panchayat Rarha as a women-friendly Gram Panchayat. Her contribution in increasing women’s participation at the Panchayat level, women empowerment and effectively implementing public welfare schemes will be appreciated on the national platform. This selection of Kusum Singh is being seen as a historic achievement for Gram Panchayat Rarh.
