Kolkata . The incident of rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata on August 9, 2024 had shocked the entire state of West Bengal. Now before the assembly elections, the parents of the female doctor said that we are being offered to contest the elections, but we want justice. While talking to journalists in Kolkata, the parents of the RG Kar victim have claimed that many political parties offered them to contest the assembly elections. The victim’s mother said, “Both of us were approached by political parties. TMC offered us from the very beginning to join politics and also offered us money, but we did not agree to this proposal.” He said that we people want justice, the government should give us justice. We are not ready to contest elections yet. That is why we do not want to say anything on this right now.
Speaking to reporters, the victim’s father said, “All political parties including TMC, CPM and BJP have given us a chance to contest the next assembly elections. We are not in politics, we just want justice for our daughter and nothing else, so there is no need for us to enter politics.”
He said that we will all support the party when we get justice. We can join the party which will provide us justice, but we are not planning to contest the elections right now. Our fight is only for justice, so politics should not be done on this. The woman doctor’s father said that she was given an offer by BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari, which she did not accept.
The case was investigated by the Kolkata Police, which later got the support of the CBI. The central agency also concluded that only Sanjay Rai was guilty of this crime. After this the court sentenced her to life imprisonment, although the family of the female doctor is not satisfied with this decision. He says that the truth has not been fully revealed yet and many questions in the case are still unanswered. This matter not only became a question on law and order, but also created a stir in political circles.
