Bharatpur. Samriddh Bharat Abhiyan Sanstha, showing human sensitivity and social responsibility, has taken a historic and commendable decision of adopting the city’s Kali Ki Bagchi crematorium. The objective of the organization is to make the cremation complex clean, well-organized, convenient and dignified, so that the citizens coming for the last rites do not have to face any kind of chaos or inconvenience in their hour of pain.
Director of the organization Sitaram Gupta said that the fact came to light through the media that the condition of most of the crematoriums in Bharatpur city is extremely worrying and neglected. Due to lack of regular maintenance over the years, problems like accumulation of filth, serious problem of drinking water, dilapidated condition of benches and sheds for sitting, poor condition of roads, lack of lighting and uncontrolled spread of bushes and thorny grass are prevalent in the cremation grounds. He said that such disorders at sacred and sensitive places like cremation grounds not only reflect administrative apathy but also further increase the pain of the bereaved family members. Taking these circumstances seriously, the Samruddha Bharat Abhiyan organization decided that by adopting Kali Ki Bagichi crematorium, improvement and development work would be carried out there in a phased manner.
Gupta said that in the primary phase, cleaning of the crematorium complex, cutting of bushes, proper arrangement of drinking water, repair of comfortable benches for sitting or installation of new benches, leveling and lighting around the cremation sites will be done. Apart from this, plantation, strengthening of roads and beautification of basic structures will also be done to provide a green and peaceful environment to the campus in future. He also informed that this initiative will not be limited to just one crematorium.
For the purpose of renovation and proper maintenance of other crematoriums of the city, the organization has written a letter to various trade associations, social, religious and service organizations including Apna Ghar, Chambers of Commerce, Vivek TVS Motors, Bharatpur Beats Group, urging them to participate in this humanitarian and virtuous work by adopting one crematorium each.
Gupta said that well-organised cremation grounds of the society are the hallmark of a civilized society. If social institutions, industrialists and business class come forward and cooperate, then permanent improvement in the condition of crematoriums is possible. He expressed confidence that this initiative of Samriddh Bharat Abhiyan will become a source of inspiration for other institutions and in the coming time, all the crematoriums of the city will be able to develop in a respectable manner.
