Save Mother Earth and fields by adopting natural and organic farming and doing poison-free farming: MP

District level natural and organic farming workshop organized under the joint aegis of Agriculture Department and IFFCO.

More than 400 farmers participated

Bhilwara. MP Damodar Aggarwal inspired the farmers to adopt natural farming and gave detailed information about the ill effects of chemical farming. He called upon the farmers to reduce excessive use of chemical fertilizers and promote the use of nano fertilizers. He said that the need of the hour is balanced nutrition management and inclusion of new technologies in modern agriculture. Farmers should adopt natural and organic farming and do poison-free farming. Stop using chemical fertilizers, DAP, urea and chemical pesticides by systematically reducing them. This will save mother earth and fields. Through this farming, the coming generations will get fertile fields and a healthy life.
Aggarwal was addressing the farmers as the chief guest in the district level natural and organic farming workshop organized under the aegis of Agriculture Department and IFFCO.
Senior public representative Shri Prashant Mewada stressed on making Bhilwara district a natural farming based district.
At the beginning of the program, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Vinod Jain, while presenting the outline of the workshop, highlighted the need and importance of natural farming and gave brief information about the main principles of natural farming.
District level natural and organic farming workshop was organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhilwara under the joint aegis of Agriculture Department and IFFCO, in which more than 400 farmers from across the district participated enthusiastically.
Dr. C.M. Yadav, Chief Scientist of Agricultural Science Center, Bhilwara, provided detailed information to the farmers about the definition, basic principles and practical aspects of natural farming. He highlighted in detail the importance of the four main pillars of natural farming – Bijamrit, Jeevamrit, Mulching and Vapsa. He told that Bijamrit provides protection to seeds and plants from diseases, Jeevamrit is helpful in providing nutrients to the plants by increasing the activity of microorganisms in the soil, while mulching helps in moisture conservation in the land, weed control and improves soil health. Explaining the concept of Vapsa, he said that providing a balanced mixture of water and air to the roots of plants increases the growth and production of crops.
IFFCO Regional Manager Lalaram Chaudhary highlighted the importance of fertilizer management, soil health card and balanced use of various nutrients to the farmers. He discussed in detail the usefulness of cowdung manure (FYM) and vermicompost while giving information about the ill effects of continuous use of single fertilizers. He also gave information about the scientific method of using nano urea, its benefits and the positive results obtained in crops. He said that the use of nano fertilizers increases fertilizer use efficiency, reduces costs and also promotes environmental protection.
H.L., scientist of Agricultural Science Center, Shahpura. Bugalia gave detailed information to the farmers about modern techniques of advanced animal husbandry and the economic benefits derived from it.
There was a dignified presence of Omprakash Sharma, Avinash Jinagar, Gopalnath Yogi and other public representatives in the workshop. At the end of the program, Agriculture Officer Shri Rameshchandra Chaudhary expressed his gratitude to the guests, officers, scientists and farmers present. In the workshop, farmers got information about various aspects of natural and organic farming and expressed their enthusiasm towards adopting it.
The program was organized under the direction of Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Vinod Jain, Deputy Director Agriculture (Horticulture) Shankar Singh Rathod, Chief Scientist of Agricultural Science Center, Bhilwara, Dr. C.M. Yadav and Regional Manager of IFFCO Lalaram Chaudhary.
In the workshop, Assistant Director Agriculture Kishan Gopal Jat, Dhirendra Singh Rathod, Agriculture Officer Shri Rameshchandra Chaudhary, Jeetram Chaudhary, on behalf of the Agriculture Department, presented the outline, highlighted the need and importance of natural farming and gave brief information about the main principles of natural farming.
