Today (May 12) is the second ‘Bada Mangal’ of Jyeshtha month. According to religious beliefs, Lord Rama met Lord Hanuman for the first time on Tuesday of this month. It is believed that those who observe fast on this day, worship Lord Hanuman, organize *Bhandare* (community feast) and do charity, receive special blessings and rewards. However, this time the second major Mars is coming under the influence of *Panchak*; Due to which the devotees are curious to know what is the auspicious time of worship and whether Panchak will affect the worship of Lord Hanuman or not.
Second Big Mangal 2026: Time of Puja (*Muhurat*)
The auspicious time of second Bada Mangal puja starts at 8:55 am today and will continue till 1:59 pm. Worshiping Lord Hanuman in the morning on this day is considered extremely auspicious. However, the puja can also be performed in the evening, the auspicious time of which is from 7:03 pm to 8:06 pm. It is believed that offering *Chola* (sacred clothes) to Lord Hanuman on this day brings positive and favorable results.
Bada Mars during Rog Panchak*
This time, Big Mars is coinciding with the period of *Rog Panchak*. Generally, people avoid doing auspicious work during Panchak; However, according to Vedic astrology, Lord Hanuman is considered almighty, and hence, he can be worshiped during this period as well. It is believed that worshiping *Panchmukhi* (five faced) Hanuman during Panchak removes fear, stress and troubles caused by enemies. Organizing *Bhandare* on this day is also considered auspicious. However, devotees are advised to avoid starting any new auspicious or auspicious work during the Panchak period.
How to worship Lord Hanuman during Panchak?
On the big Tuesday of Panchak, devotees should offer *sindoor*, red sandalwood paste and red flowers to Lord Hanuman. Apart from this, lighting a jasmine oil lamp is also considered very auspicious. Devotees can chant the following mantra on this day:
**’Om Namo Bhagwate Panchavadnaya, Purvakapi Mukhay, Sakal Shatru Samharnaya Swaha.’** Reciting Hanuman Bisa, Hanuman Chalisa or Sunderkand on this day is considered very auspicious. However, performing *havan* or *yagya* (sacrifice ritual) during the *panchak* period is prohibited.
**Important points to keep in mind:**
1. Devotees worshiping Lord Hanuman on the day of *Bada Mangal* should avoid wearing black or blue colored clothes. Wearing red, yellow or white colored clothes on this day is considered auspicious.
2. Those who are observing fast and performing puja should stay away from anger and negative thoughts, and strictly observe *Brahmacharya* (abstinence) throughout the day.
3. According to tradition, only *Satvik* food should be consumed on this day and one should completely avoid non-vegetarian food and alcohol.
