There was an uproar in Lohia Nagar area of Meerut when a local shopkeeper found the dead body of a young man lying outside his shop early in the morning. People nearby tried to identify the deceased, but no information was found. After this, the police was informed and the body was sent for postmortem as per standard procedure. Initially it seemed to be a routine matter, but later the CCTV footage revealed a shocking twist in the entire incident.

Police officers were seen throwing the dead body
When the police checked the nearby CCTV footage, they saw something that no one had even imagined. The camera showed two police officers arriving on a motorcycle at around 1:50 am, followed by an e-rickshaw. The dead body of that unknown youth was in this rickshaw. It was clearly visible in the footage that both the police officers together were removing the body from the rickshaw, keeping it in front of a shop on the roadside, and then leaving from there without informing any officer or the control room. This entire action shows that the police was trying to throw the dead body in another area to shirk their duty and run away from responsibility.
Sub-inspector and constable suspended
After CCTV footage surfaced, SSP Meerut Vipin Tada immediately took strict action in this matter. Investigation revealed that constable Rajesh and home guard Rohtas were responsible for throwing the body, while serious negligence of outpost in-charge Jitendra also came to light. The SSP immediately suspended the sub-inspector and constable and fired the home guard. The SSP clearly said that no police officer involved in such indiscipline will be spared.

The entire matter has now been handed over to City SP Ayush Vikram Singh for investigation. He will find out why the dead body was taken from one area to another and at whose behest. The investigation will also reveal how many more policemen were involved in this illegal act. At present, the Lohia Nagar police has taken possession of the body and kept it in the mortuary, and efforts are on to trace the family of the deceased youth.
Identity of the deceased still unknown
According to the police, the youth has not been identified yet. Missing persons reports are being checked from nearby police stations to find out who the youth was and under what circumstances he died. Efforts are on to trace the family of the deceased.
