Panchkula. On the foundation day of BJP, Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, while giving her opinion on the Women’s Reservation Bill, fiercely targeted the Congress. Speaking to , Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma said, “The Women’s Reservation Bill was promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This bill was to come by 2029, but our government is bringing some changes now. This bill is expected to be implemented from now. However, some parties are opposing the Amendment Act, because they do not want to give place to women even in their party. These are anti-women parties.” Rekha Sharma said, “Our party wants to bring forward women power. Only if men and women work together in the House, the country will progress. If women come into politics, the problems of half the population will be easily solved.”
At the same time, on the question of Congress not participating in the meeting and not speaking clearly on the bill, Rekha Sharma said, “These people are tired of defeat. Senior leaders do not have hope from the Congress party. Congress could not bring this bill in its tenure of 10 years, because Mulayam Singh and Lalu Yadav, the people sitting in the Indian alliance, had opposed it. However, this time Congress and the opposition will have to pass the bill because what will these two parties say to the women that we have opposed.”
Rekha Sharma gave a sharp reaction to the question of BJP bringing women’s reservation bill to stop Rahul Gandhi from becoming PM. He said, “Even if BJP does not bring this bill, Rahul Gandhi will not become the PM. What will be the condition of the country if Rahul Gandhi becomes the PM? Everyone knows his nationalist thinking, he will never be able to become the Prime Minister.”
On Akhilesh Yadav’s statement on census before the bill, Rekha Sharma said, “His father had also opposed it. He is against the public, only the public will teach him a lesson.”
