Somnath temple is a symbol of our faith and culture: Virendra Sachdeva

New Delhi . Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said on Saturday that Somnath Swabhiman festival is not just an event but a symbol of India’s religious and cultural consciousness. Regarding Somnath Swabhiman festival, Virendra Sachdeva said that BJP National Executive President Nitin Nabin first had darshan of Lord Shiva and then had darshan of Lord Hanuman. He said that in the year 1026, Somnath temple was brutally attacked by foreign invaders, but despite repeated attacks, India’s faith and cultural heritage never weakened. Even today Somnath Temple is counted among the most famous temples in the world and it is a symbol of the strength of our faith.
On the other hand, reacting to the FIR lodged against Kapil Mishra, Virendra Sachdeva said that what surprised him most was that despite the incident taking place inside the Delhi Assembly, the Punjab Government and the Punjab Police intervened in the matter. The remarks made by Leader of Opposition Atishi inside the Assembly against Sikh Gurus were extremely objectionable.
Sachdeva clarified that only the Speaker of the Assembly has the right to take action on any incident that occurs inside the Assembly. Neither the Punjab Government nor the Punjab Police have any jurisdiction in this matter.
He also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party and its chief Arvind Kejriwal and said that after the remarks made against Sikh Gurus, the Aam Aadmi Party seems nervous and under this pressure this action is being taken.
He alleged that AAP is trying to divert attention from the issue.
Let us tell you that earlier on Friday, Virendra Sachdeva had criticized Atishi and said that Atishi wasted the time of the Assembly by going to Goa for party campaign in the middle of the winter session and violated his constitutional duty of being present in the House.
Sachdeva had said that if anyone is responsible for wasting the time of the winter session of Delhi Assembly, it is opposition leader Atishi.
