St. Xavier's School: Annual Mrs. Melin Gosain Staff Badminton Tournament held in Chandigarh-2025

Chandigarh The annual “Mrs. Melin Gosain Staff Badminton Tournament-2025” was successfully organized by the Sports Department of St. Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh. This exciting tournament, which lasted a week, was attended by a total of 50 teaching and non-teaching staff members of four branches of Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali and Zerkpur and performed their sportspersons. The tournament was held in two categories of women’s doubles and men’s doubles. During the competitions, every match saw sportsmanship and competitive enthusiasm. The event that lasted this week with the final matches held on September 19, 2025, ended.
The school administration appreciated the enthusiasm and sportsmanship of all the participants and presented certificates and awards to the winners. The tournament worked to promote cooperation, team spirit and a sense of fitness between the staff.
The end results are as follows:
Women’s couple final
Shama Parveen of Zirakpur and Rani of Chandigarh defeated Priyanka Rana of Chandigarh and Rituja Mishra of Zerkpur by 2-1 (16-21; 21-17 and 21-13). Semifinalists -1. Jasmine Kaur of Zirakpur branch and Prachi Sharma of Chandigarh Branch. 2. Maninder Kaur and Sheetal Mundra of Chandigarh branch.
Male couple
Winners-Chandan S Patwal of Chandigarh and Pritam Rawat defeated Ben William of Chandigarh and Rakesh of Panchkula branch by 2–0 (21-12 and 21-16).
Semifinalist
1. Shashi Prakash of Panchkula branch and Nishant Bijalwan of Chandigarh Branch. 2. Arya Thapliyal and Harinder Rana of Chandigarh Branch.

Principal Dr. Evorin Castelas congratulated the winners and appreciated the Sports Department for the great success of the annual sports event. Chairman Mr. I. William presented the awards to the winners.
