In Birbhum district of West Bengal, a 10th class student committed suicide by consuming poison. He took this step after his mother scolded him. It is being told that the student had to give board exam, but she was not paying attention to her studies. His mother scolded him and got upset and asked him to study. This made her angry and she consumed poison.
The incident was reported at Ilambazar police station in Birbhum district. The deceased girl has been identified as 17-year-old Usha Barui, a resident of Sirsha village and a class 10 student of Sirsha Shailjakant High School. She had to give board exam this year, but Usha was showing negligence in studies. His mother scolded him for not paying attention. Fed up with this scolding, Usha ate poisonous things kept in the house.
He died during treatment.
Usha’s condition deteriorated after consuming poison. His family members immediately took him to Ilambazar Rural Hospital. There his condition became critical and he was referred to Burdwan Medical College Hospital, but he could not be saved. The student died during treatment on Monday morning. On receiving information about the incident, Ilambazar police took out the body from the grave and sent it for postmortem.
After being scolded by his mother, he hurriedly consumed poison.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigating the incident. There is mourning in the area due to this tragic incident. The deceased’s father told that his mother always insisted on his daughter to study, but she did not agree. She used to get angry when asked to study. Now he had exams. When his mother scolded him, he committed suicide.
