Fatehabad. As part of Haryana Government’s strict anti-corruption policy, the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB), in an important action, has arrested Mahendra, a police sub-inspector posted in Fatehabad district, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 35,000. The arrested accused was currently working as Sub-Inspector in Police Station Sadar Tohana, District Fatehabad.

According to the complaint received, a complaint was pending against the complainant in Sadar Tohana police station. The accused Sub-Inspector Mahendra, who was investigating the case, had demanded bribe from the complainant in exchange for settling the complaint. After receiving the complaint, the Jind unit of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau took immediate action and laid a trap to nab the accused. During the trap, the accused sub-inspector was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 35,000 in the police station Sadar Tohana premises and a thorough investigation of the case is going on. In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused at SV&ACB Karnal police station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has appealed to the general public that if any government officer or employee demands bribe in exchange for any work, then immediately inform the Bureau about it, so that strict legal action can be ensured against the persons involved in corruption.
