Sudhanshu Trivedi's stance on the song 'Kaaba-Madina' in Durga Pandal, accused of appeasement on Mamta

New Delhi, 27 September (). Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Saturday targeted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In the presence of Mamta, he objected to the song ‘Kaaba-Medina’ by TMC MLA in Maa Durga Pandal and accused him of appeasement.

Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, while targeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, described the song ‘Waver me soon, take me in Durga pandal, my heart in my heart, Kaaba and Mere Mana Hai Madina’. Addressing the media at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday, he accused TMC and ‘India’ blocks of cultural appeasement. Trivedi said that on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, the whole country is immersed in worshiping Shakti, but the “malicious” of the leaders of the India coalition is coming out.

Referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s 2024 statement ‘fighting power’, Trivedi said, “In the presence of Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, this song in Durga Pandal is a hurt on Sanatan Dharma. There may be a Kaaba or Medina in someone’s heart, but why is it in the pandal in Navratri? Is it a conspiracy against the Sanatan Dharma of India Block?” He also gave an example of worshiping ‘Banu Mustafa’ at the inauguration of Mysore Dussehra in Karnataka.

He questioned, “Why do people who reject the invitation of Ram temple, why do they express the Akidat of Kaaba-Medina in Durga Pandal without calling? This is a dangerous plan to woo radical votes.” Trivedi lashed out at Mamta and said that her posters were removed and put up of Mamta before Amit Shah’s pandal tour. Another pandal, which was on the ‘Operation Sindoor’ theme, was closed and withdrew. This reflects the ‘hatred’ of the TMC government towards Hinduism.

The BJP called it a cultural insult, while TMC described it as a symbol of religious harmony.
