Patiala. Three officials were seriously injured in a violent clash between notorious criminals lodged in Patiala Central Jail in Punjab. The attack was carried out by Sandeep Singh alias Sunny, the main accused in the Sudhir Suri murder case.
According to the information, Sandeep Singh suddenly attacked retired DSP Gurbachan Singh, Inspector Suba Singh and Inspector Inderjeet, who was serving the sentence in the case of smuggling drugs in the fake encounter case in jail itself.
It is being told that the attack took place inside the jail after a minor argument, which took a violent form on seeing it. Its investigation has been started how the weapon reached Sandeep.
The three police officers injured in the attack were immediately admitted to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. The condition of Inspector Suba Singh is said to be very critical. The team of doctors is monitoring him.
Sandeep Singh alias Sunny, Sudhir Suri is the main accused in the murder case and is already in jail. Incidents of violence inside the jail have been reported against him earlier. According to sources, there may be old enmity behind this attack.
At present, the police and jail administration are investigating the entire incident and the security system in the jail has been tightened.
It is being told that the attack took place at around 12 noon on Wednesday afternoon and Sudhir Suri, who attacked Sudhir Suri, was lodged in the Central Jail.
The accused is being told the reason for the attack to reach the jail authorities when the phone is used in the barrack of the said officers.
