New Delhi, February 1 (). Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Sunday that despite uncertainty in the global situation, the government has ensured self-reliance in every sector. He said that India’s economic trajectory has been stable and the country is moving towards the goal of becoming a developed India by 2047.
Presenting the ninth consecutive budget, the Finance Minister said that the government aims to strengthen economic growth and fulfill the aspirations of the people. This budget is based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
Nirmala Sitharaman said, “Our government has always taken concrete steps rather than confusion. We have undertaken major economic reforms, maintained fiscal discipline and paid special attention to currency stability as well as public investment.”
The Finance Minister said in the Lok Sabha that today there is a crisis in trade and international cooperation in the world. There are disruptions in resources and supply chains. New technologies are changing production methods and increasing demand for water, energy and essential minerals. In such an environment, India will continue to move towards a developed India with balance and inclusion. Along with this, the Finance Minister has made many big announcements.
This is the 15th budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government. Along with this, this is the second full budget after NDA comes to power for the third consecutive time in 2024.
Nirmala Sitharaman is the first woman Finance Minister of the country, who has presented the budget nine consecutive times in the Parliament.
This budget is likely to pay special attention to capital expenditure, especially in those sectors which are considered strategically important in view of the current global situation.
After the presentation of the Union Budget 2026-27, the Finance Minister will interact with about 30 college students from different parts of the country. These students are watching the budget presentation live from the Lok Sabha gallery, which has given them an opportunity to understand the important proceedings of the Parliament.
While preparing the budget, the government has taken suggestions from the citizens of the country including the youth through different forums. A glimpse of these suggestions will be seen in the upcoming Union Budget 2026-27.
In this way, this budget has been prepared keeping in mind the goal of self-reliant India, the power of youth and developed India.
