New Delhi, January 25 (). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the first ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program of the year 2026. In the 130th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister spoke in detail on important topics like Startup India, quality in industry and public participation.

During the program, Prime Minister Modi, while remembering the journey of ‘Startup India’, said that these days people are sharing their memories of 2016 on social media. In this sequence, he also shared one of his memories with the country. The Prime Minister said that the initiative of ‘Startup India’, which started about 10 years ago, has today become a historic movement. The real heroes of this journey are the youth of the country, who came out of their comfort zone and made innovations and brought glory to the country.

The Prime Minister said that today India has become the third largest startup ecosystem in the world. Indian startups are active in almost every important sector like artificial intelligence, space, nuclear energy, semiconductor, mobility, green hydrogen and biotechnology. He said that whichever sector is named, some Indian startup is seen working there. PM Modi saluted the youth associated with startups and those who wish to start new ventures and appreciated their contribution.

Along with this, Prime Minister Modi urged the industry and startups to pay special attention to quality. He said that India’s economy is growing rapidly and the eyes of the whole world are fixed on India. In such times, the responsibility of industries and startups increases even more. PM Modi clearly said that the era of ‘what happens or what will happen’ is over and now quality will have to be given priority at every level.

The Prime Minister said that it is important to take a pledge to improve the quality of whatever construction is being done in the country. Be it textiles, technology, electronics or packaging – Indian products should be identified by top quality. He appealed to the industry and startups to make excellence their benchmark and give top priority to quality in every product.

Apart from this, the Prime Minister also stressed on the power of public participation and collective efforts. He said that Indians are innovative by nature and finding solutions to problems is in the blood of the countrymen. Some people do this work through startups, while some people bring change through collective participation of the society.

Giving the example of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister told how the local people gave new life to the Tamsa River. This river, which originates from Ayodhya and joins the Ganga, was once the pivot of life of the people of the area, but due to pollution, its flow had stopped. Later the local people came together to clean the river, planted shady trees on the banks and with collective efforts the revival of the river was possible.

Similarly, to overcome the water shortage in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, the local people took a pledge to clean the reservoirs. ‘Anant Neeru Conservation Project’ was started with the cooperation of the administration, under which more than 10 water reservoirs were revived and more than 7,000 trees were planted. The Prime Minister said that these efforts have increased water conservation as well as green cover in Anantapur.

PM Modi said that public participation and collectivity are the biggest strengths of the country and on the basis of this, India is establishing new dimensions of development.
