New Delhi . Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Praveen Khandelwal has made a scathing attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over the Women’s Reservation Bill not being passed in the Lok Sabha. He said that if the Women’s Reservation Bill had been passed, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would have emerged as a big leader in the Congress, which perhaps was not acceptable to Rahul Gandhi. Speaking to , BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal said, “Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Congress, TMC, DMK, SP and other opposition parties, as part of a well-planned conspiracy, dropped this bill (Women’s Reservation Bill) and shamelessly stood up in the House and said that we will drop this bill. With this, they have insulted the women of the country.” He further said, “If the Women’s Reservation Bill had been passed, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would have emerged as a big leader in the Congress, which perhaps was not acceptable to Rahul Gandhi. This could also be a major reason for dropping the Women’s Reservation Bill.” Khandelwal said that women have been hurt by the conduct of the opposition.
Praveen Khandelwal condemned the controversial statement against women by Bihar’s Purnia MP Pappu Yadav. He said, “I feel ashamed even to speak the words that Pappu Yadav used. In India, women are worshiped in the form of Durga and Lakshmi. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha should take cognizance of the words Pappu Yadav used regarding that woman.” The BJP MP demanded that Pappu Yadav’s parliamentary membership should be cancelled.
On Mallikarjun Kharge, Praveen Khandelwal said, “The effect of age is visible on the National President of the Congress. Kharge made comments about the Prime Minister of the country crossing all limits of culture, civilization and decorum. It is clear that the mental balance of the Congress President is not good. The Congress Party should get Kharge examined by a psychiatrist soon.”
