The Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Rajasthan State Branch has expressed deep condolence on the untimely and tragic death of contract nursing worker Late Deepak Kharwal and expressed condolences to his family. To provide support to the family in this difficult time, TNAI Rajasthan State Branch, in a humanitarian and commendable initiative, has decided to make a fixed deposit (FD) of ₹ 1 lakh in the name of the children of late Deepak Kharwal.
President of TNAI Rajasthan State Branch, Dr. Jogendra Sharma said that the death of Deepak Kharwal is extremely sad and worrying. This incident draws attention to the problems and insecurities of health workers working in the contractual system. At such a time, it is the responsibility of society and professional organizations to stand with the affected families. He said that TNAI is the oldest and only national nursing organization in the country, established in the year 1908 and recognized by the Government of India, which provides various types of financial assistance and social security to its life members and student members.
Major assistance schemes of TNAI— Includes Critical Care Assistance – ₹2 Lakh, Medical Assistance – ₹1 Lakh, Accidental Death Insurance Assistance – ₹10 Lakh. Similarly, a death insurance benefit of ₹5 lakh is available for student members of the Student Nurses Association (SNA).
Dr. Sharma said that recently, after the sudden death of a nursing student from Ajmer, TNAI had provided a death insurance claim of ₹ 5 lakh to his family. If late Deepak Kharwal had been a lifelong member of TNAI, his family would have also received death compensation of ₹ 10 lakh and ₹ 5 lakh, totaling ₹ 15 lakh, from TNAI.
Unfortunately, Deepak is no more, in such a situation, TNAI Rajasthan State Branch, fulfilling its social commitment towards the community, has decided that for the security of the future of the children of late Deepak Kharwal, the State Branch will make an FD of ₹ 1 lakh with the personal support of its officials. This assistance is being provided completely on humanitarian basis and it is hoped that this small assistance will prove helpful in securing the future of their children.
