In Uttar Pradesh today, on January 6, the draft voter list was released after SIR. Names of more than 800,000 voters out of more than 2.1 million voters in Ghaziabad have been deleted. Ghaziabad District Magistrate (DM) said that all deleted voters will be given a chance to rejoin the voter list. Among the five assembly seats in the district, Sahibabad has the highest number of deleted voters.

The draft voter list was released today after the completion of the Special Intensive Verification (SIR) process in Ghaziabad. Out of the total voters in the district, more than 2.1 million voters processed the SIR. Out of these, names of 8,18,362 voters have been deleted. However, the Election Commission has made it clear that even after the release of the draft list, voters will get a chance to include their names in the voter list.

The SIR process started from 4 November.

The special scrutiny of voter list in the state started from November 4 and the Election Commission released the SIR on October 27. After 30 November, the revised schedule was again extended to 11 December. After the release of the voter list, the administration claims that the objection process will start, on the basis of which the final voter list will be prepared.

Final list will be released on March 6
The final voter list will be released on March 6. Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mand said that the entire process has been completed. Today a meeting is being held with all political parties. Voter lists have been handed over to all political parties, and those whose names were left out of the voter list have also been given the opportunity to fill Form 6 and Appendix 4 and submit it to the booth-level officer of their area.

Voters’ names have been removed on a large scale
You can also file your application online through the Election Commission website or ‘iNetUp’. To get your name added, it will be necessary to attend the Election Commission hearing. There are five assembly constituencies in Ghaziabad district. The SIR process was completely completed in all the assembly constituencies, yet names of voters have been removed on a large scale.

Names of 26 percent voters in Loni assembly constituency, 23.67 percent in Muradnagar, 38 percent in Sahibabad and 25.36 percent in Ghaziabad assembly constituency have been removed. A total of more than 800,000 voters’ names have been removed in the district.
