Udaipur. On the auspicious occasion of Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi, the Tulsi-Shaligram marriage was solemnized with Vedic rituals on Sunday at Seva Mahatirtha of Narayan Seva Sansthan, Badi village. This auspicious ceremony of Sanatan culture took place in an atmosphere of traditional joy and religious faith. Rituals performed according to Vedic methods, the program started with installation of Ganapati and Kalash. After this, all the traditional pre-wedding rituals—Toran, Haldi, Mehndi and Bindauli—were performed as per religious rituals. Enthusiastic participation of devotees and people associated with the institution was seen in the marriage ceremony.
Grand departure of Shaligram procession
The procession of Shaligram ji left with much fanfare from the premises of Vaishno-Devi temple. The marriage ceremony was performed in the dignified presence of the American expatriate couple Virendra Kumar – Geeta Devi from the groom’s side, and Lalit Kumar – Anju Devi, residents of Kaithal (Haryana) from the bride’s side.
Message from the Institute President
On this occasion, Institute President Prashant Aggarwal, in his message, described Tulsi Vivah as a virtuous and fortunate rite of Sanatan tradition. He said that this event strengthens the spirit of religion, service and harmony in the society.
The marriage took place amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras.
The marriage ceremony was performed at dusk with Vedic chanting under the direction of Pt. Vikas Upadhyay and Pt. Upendra Shastri. The entire campus was filled with a feeling of devotion, harmony and celebration.
Disabled people from all over the country also became witnesses.
Trustee-director of the institute Devendra Chaubisa, Rakesh Sharma, Vishnu Sharma Hitaishi, Rohit Tiwari, Anil Acharya, Dilip Chauhan, Banshilal Meghwal along with the disabled people who came from all over the country for free surgery and their families were present in the program. The successful coordination of the event was done by Mahim Jain.
