Udhampur. Udhampur Police has taken major action against Ghulam Kader, a habitual accused involved in cow smuggling, and has confiscated his movable property. Police have attached a Tata vehicle (registration number JK14J3924) worth Rs 12 lakh. This vehicle is said to be of Ghulam Kader. According to the information received from the police, this action has been taken under Section 107(5) of BNSS on the orders of JMIC Ramnagar, Udhampur. Investigation found that the said vehicle was used in a case under FIR No. 165/2025 registered at Ramnagar Police Station under Section 223 (A) BNS and 11 PCA Act. The Investigating Officer (IO) thoroughly investigated the case and also examined the criminal records and financial transactions of the accused. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was purchased with illegally earned money through cow smuggling. On this basis, the police took immediate action and confiscated the vehicle.
This is the 11th consecutive major action of the Udhampur Police, in which a total of properties worth Rs 1.43 crore have been seized so far. Police say that such actions will continue in the future to curb crimes, so that such illegal activities can be rooted out.
Earlier, police in Reasi district on Monday had seized a motorcycle bought with drug money. As part of its drive against drug smugglers and an effort to dismantle the illegal narcotics network, the Reasi district police seized illegally acquired property of a notorious drug smuggler, police had claimed. Police said that the motorcycle of accused Mohammad Razak has been confiscated under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985.
