Jaipur. The budget for the financial year 2026-27, presented under the visionary and sensitive leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, is going to write a new story of development for the capital Jaipur. In this budget dedicated to people’s aspirations, comprehensive provisions have been made ranging from heritage conservation to modern infrastructure, roads, drinking water, health, education and industrial development. As a result of the commitment and clear vision of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Jaipur will now move towards new heights in the direction of planned, balanced and all-round development.


The budget for the financial year 2026-27 presented in the Assembly by Finance Minister Diya Kumari is not just a compilation of figures but a roadmap to realize public sentiments, public expectations and aspirations. In this public welfare budget presented under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, many historic announcements have been made that will take the capital Jaipur to new heights of development. To ease the traffic in the state, construction works of state highways, ROB, RUB, flyovers, elevated roads and bridges have been proposed at a cost of approximately Rs 1800 crore. In Jaipur district, a provision of crores of rupees has been made for various road development works in Vidyadharnagar worth Rs 20 crores, beautification of main roads in Vaishali Nagar worth Rs 5 crores, road construction and upgradation works in various areas including Amer, Chaumun, Dudu, Jamvaramgarh, Jhotwara, Sanganer, Chaksu and Bagru. A 135 km long state highway will be developed from Dudu to Lalsot via Phagi-Chaksu-Tunga at a cost of Rs 675 crore and 9 ROBs and RUBs will be built in Jaipur district.
About Rs 1000 crore will be spent to modernize the traffic management of Jaipur city. A 4.40 km long elevated road will be constructed from Aranya Bhawan to Jagatpura ROB at a cost of Rs 560 crore. A provision of Rs 500 crore has been made for construction of underpass on Old Chungi, Ajmer Road, traffic safety work of Rs 30 crore, development of sector road in Benad Road, Kalwad Road, Khatipura Road and Mansarovar and strengthening of comprehensive drainage system.
To strengthen drinking water availability, a new transmission line will be constructed from Surajpura to Chaksu at a cost of Rs 650 crore, which will benefit about 20 lakh population of 1092 villages including Chaksu, Bassi. To deal with the drinking water crisis in summer season, 600 tube wells and 1200 hand pumps will be installed and Rs 1 crore will be made available to each district collector for summer contingency. Center of Excellence for Water Management will also be established in Jaipur at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
For expansion of power system, 220 KV GSS will be established in Manda (Chaumun), 132 KV GSS in Bagru Rawan and 33/11 KV GSS in Muhana, Samod and Sali. To give a new impetus to industrial development, new industrial areas will be developed in Phagi, Chaumun, Mauzamabad and Dudu and Rs 1000 crore will be spent for the development of infrastructure facilities in industrial areas including Bichon, Vishwakarma, Sitapura and EPIP.
To promote education and innovation, Bagru College will be upgraded from UG to PG. Space Gallery and Children Gallery will be constructed in Science Park Jaipur. For the development of sports infrastructure, a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for Maharana Pratap Sports University and various development works will be done in Chitrakoot Stadium.
Under the expansion of medical facilities, Center of Excellence in Mental Health will be established in SMS Medical College, establishment of 500 bed IPD tower and Pediatric Neurology Department at a cost of Rs 75 crore in JK Lone Hospital, development of 200 bed Pediatric IPD and ICU in AUHS Hospital and 12 modular operation theaters will be established in SMS Hospital. New health centers will also be constructed and upgraded in various areas.
Under the protection of tourism and cultural heritage, world class tourism facilities will be developed in Amer Fort and Amer town at a cost of Rs 50 crore. Ropeway will be constructed at Baki Mata Temple in Raisar Jamvaramgarh and Shilpgram will be renovated at Jawahar Kala Kendra with the cost of Rs 15 crore. Construction of world class exhibition space along with Rajasthan Mandapam is also proposed.
Under administrative strengthening, construction of Mini Secretariat in Sanganer, Central Hall in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, upgradation of Government Secretariat, construction of hostel in Harishchandra Mathur Institute of Public Administration and establishment of new police posts and police stations in various areas will be done.
This budget for the financial year 2026-27 is a historic step towards establishing Jaipur district as a modern, well-organized, safe, industrially strong and tourism-rich metropolis. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, this public-friendly budget will provide a new identity of development to the capital Jaipur.
