Gandhinagar. The new MLA quarter built in Gandhinagar will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 23rd. These new MLA quarters are not limited to mere accommodation facilities, but are designed with the aim of enhancing the comfort, security and quality of life for the MLA and his family.
The old MLA quarters in Sector 17 have been demolished and new quarters equipped with modern facilities have been built in their place. The total cost of this project is Rs 220 crore. 216 houses have been constructed in it, each house being 4BHK. These quarters with 9 floors have been designed in the form of a total of 12 towers. This scheme was started by the government about 5 years ago, so that the MLAs can be provided with accommodation facilities as well as modern and public utility facilities.
Many public facilities have been included in the new MLA quarters. These include two large landscaped gardens and comfortable seating areas, an auditorium, community hall and canteen.
Additionally, the quarter also has amenities like modern health club, children’s play area, senior citizen park and internet lounge. There are also specially created indoor game zones and decks for yoga-aerobics, jogging and walking tracks. Four in-out gates have also been installed for security and convenience.
A total of five rooms have been built in each new MLA quarter. It comprises three master bedrooms with attached toilet facilities. Apart from this, there is also a common toilet, waiting area for visitors, meeting room for discussions and library or reading room. Store room and dressing room facilities are also provided in the quarter. Apart from the kitchen, a separate room and entrance is also made for the cook or housekeeper.
