Lucknow . Finance Minister Suresh Khanna on Wednesday presented a budget of Rs 9 lakh 12 thousand 696 crore 35 lakh (Rs 9,12,696.35 crore) for the financial year 2026-27 in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. New schemes worth Rs 43,565.33 crore are included in this budget. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the budget in the Assembly. He said that provisions have been made for various schemes with the aim of strengthening the rural economy and increasing the income of farmers. To promote technology-based development, the establishment of ‘New and Emerging Technology Mission’ has been announced in the state. Along with this, data authority and data center clusters will be established in the state. Suresh Khanna said that to promote Artificial Intelligence, AI Mission and ‘Tech Yuva Samarth Yuva Yojana’ will be started, through which there is a plan to provide training and opportunities to the youth in emerging technologies. In the energy sector, a provision has been made to convert diesel based tube wells into solar energy based in a phased manner. At the same time, there will be emphasis on providing employment-oriented training to the youth by increasing the capacity of skill development training centres.
He informed the House that as a result of efforts made to promote innovation in the state along with investment in industry and technology, the state of Uttar Pradesh has achieved the leader category ranking in the startup ranking at the national level.
The Finance Minister said that the state is in the leading position in the country in the agriculture sector. He said that Uttar Pradesh ranks first in wheat and potato production. Agriculture export hubs will be developed in the state with the aim of increasing the income of farmers and connecting the agriculture sector with the global market.
The Finance Minister said that the state has recorded a steady growth in per capita income and the flow of investment has increased. The economic outlook has strengthened due to increase in industrial activities. Extensive training programs will be conducted to connect the youth with employment. The capacity of skill development centers will be expanded and new training centers will be set up under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. There is also a plan to open a separate special skill development center for women. A provision of Rs 575 crore has been made for the new scheme of ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone’ to promote industrial development.
Apart from this, ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana’ will be launched with the aim of providing self-employment opportunities to the youth. The state government has also announced to take major steps in the field of digital infrastructure. Eight data center parks will be established in the state, whose total capacity has been fixed at 900 MW. This initiative is being taken with the aim of attracting IT and technology based investments.
