Following the principles of Vastu Shastra brings positivity in life. Some special rules have been mentioned in this ancient knowledge, the purpose of which is to make our life easier. The principles of Vastu are not limited to just deciding the direction of the house and rooms; Rather, these also apply to our everyday things and habits. Would you believe if you were told that the plate in which we eat food also has some connection with Vaastu? Maybe not—or maybe you’re not sure yet. But, it is worth noting that there is a deep relationship between the food plate and the principles of Vastu Shastra. From preparing food to eating it, certain special rules are prescribed in Vastu; Ignoring these rules can unknowingly create problems for us. So let us know about the special rules of Vaastu related to the food plate.
right direction to eat
First, let’s decide which direction is best to face while eating. According to the scriptures, one should always sit facing north or east while eating food. According to religious beliefs, eating food facing east brings positive energy in life. At the same time, eating food facing north increases happiness and prosperity, and also helps in removing financial problems. But, eating food facing south should be completely avoided. It is believed that doing so brings poverty and bad luck.
What type of plate should be used?
Now, let us look at some of the features of a dinner plate. According to Vastu Shastra, a bronze (*Kansa*) plate is considered the most auspicious for eating. If it is not possible to use a bronze plate, then a clean stainless steel plate should be used. On the contrary, eating food in plastic plates should be completely avoided. Apart from this, one should also avoid eating food in a plate that is broken, edged or cracked.
How to serve food in a plate
Some special rules have been given regarding the way of serving food in the plate, and it is very important to follow these rules. According to the scriptures, rice and roti (chapati) should be served first in the plate. These things are considered symbols of Goddess Lakshmi (goddess of wealth and prosperity). Lastly, food should always be organized, beautiful to look at and served in a respectable manner. This helps in maintaining peace and proper balance in life. Also, one should not serve three rotis (chapatis) in the plate at the same time. Instead, only one, two or four rotis should always be placed in the plate.
pickle and salt storage place
Many people like to take extra salt with their food, while pickles are known to double the taste of food. According to the scriptures, if salt is to be kept in the plate, it should be kept on the right side. On the contrary, placing the pickle on the left side is considered the correct way.
