Be it international cricket or IPL, Virat Kohli’s energy is always clearly visible on the field. Apart from his tremendous ability, Virat Kohli is also known for his passion and enthusiasm in the world of cricket. During a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026, an argument broke out between Virat Kohli and Travis Head. After the match was over, Virat did not shake hands with Head. A video of this incident went viral on social media. Now, Head’s wife Jessica has revealed that the argument led to abuse on social media.
Last Friday, there was an argument between Travis Head and Virat Kohli during a match played in Hyderabad. After the match was over, Kohli refused to shake hands with Australian batsman Head. In this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 55 runs.
Head’s wife Jessica said that after the incident, their social media accounts were flooded with abusive comments. Speaking to *The Adelaide Advertiser*, Jessica said, “It seems like the kind of abuse that was seen after the World Cup is happening again. When I woke up this morning, I saw that I was getting a lot of messages on my social media accounts. People were also making abusive comments about my friends and family.”
He said this in the context of the 2023 ODI World Cup final, in which Australia defeated India and Head played a brilliant inning of 137 runs. He was named ‘Player of the Match’ for that performance.
Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer said on his YouTube channel that Kohli should have shaken hands with Head. He said, “The matter should have been resolved there. He should have shaken hands and moved on. Kohli is the ambassador of this game, and his action (refusing to shake hands) was not right. Considering his status as such a big player, he should not have behaved like this.”
