In the Desuri area of the district, at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday night, a leopard entered the house and killed a pet dog in just 8 seconds. The incident took place in Rebari ki Dhani below Seli Mata Colony, where the house of former Desuri sarpanch Praveen Solanki is located.

According to the police and forest department, the leopard first waited in ambush and as soon as it got the opportunity, it jumped over the 7 feet high wall and entered the house. He went straight towards the dog tied outside the room, pressed it in his mouth and ran away towards the field with his victim.

Praveen Solanki and his family were sleeping at the time of the incident. Hearing the sound of dog barking, he looked outside, but by then the leopard had gone towards the field with his prey. This sudden and rapid incident became a scary experience for the people in the colony and the area around the house.

Forest department officials said leopard activity has increased in the area as the surrounding forests and fields provide a natural hunting environment for them. He has warned the local people to keep their pets locked indoors or in a safe place at night and not to leave them in open places.

Experts say that leopard is very smart and fast for hunting. Such attacks are not limited only to dogs and small pets, but can also pose a threat to humans. Therefore, rural and colony people should remain alert and follow the advice of the Forest Department.

Local people said that there have been many incidents of leopards being seen and coming in herds in the area before. The Forest Department said that they will increase patrolling and put up warning boards to make people aware to stay safe.

This incident has created fear and anxiety among the villagers of the colony and surrounding areas. People are now paying attention to measures to keep their pets safe when they go out at night.

Former sarpanch Praveen Solanki said that this is a signal to be alert for him and the entire area. He said that people should follow the guidelines of the Forest Department and pay attention to the safety of their animals.

Thus, the incident of leopard entering a house and hunting a dog in Desuri area of Pali has once again highlighted the risks of wildlife and human interaction. Both the forest department and the local administration are appealing to the people to be safe and alert.
