Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that Yoga is a precious gift of our Sanatan culture, which has been given by our sages for the welfare of the entire humanity. India’s thousands of years old yoga tradition has today become a source of inspiration for the whole world. There was a time when yoga was considered limited only to ashrams and gurukuls, but today yoga is being practiced in almost every country of the world. This is a proof of the cultural power of India. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed auditorium and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the women’s hostel organized at Shri Krishna Ayush University on Friday. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini first planted saplings on World Environment Day in the premises of Shri Krishna Ayush University. Along with this, all the dignitaries, officials and common citizens also planted about 101 saplings. After this, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the examination center cum multipurpose hall of the university built at a cost of Rs 9 crore and laid the foundation stone of the multi-storey women’s hostel to be built at a cost of about Rs 8 crore. The Chief Minister assured to increase the stipend of AYUSH University students soon.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched the anthem of Shri Krishna Ayush University, released two books including Research General, PhD research work of the university and Shodh Ganga Portal.
After the program of Ayush University, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini participated in the Sampurna Sundar Kand Parayan and discourse ceremony organized by Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Swami Shashwat Nand Giri Maharaj at Akhand Geeta Peeth Sashwat Sevashram Trust.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that Kurukshetra is the center of India’s spiritual consciousness. This is the land where Lord Shri Krishna, through Arjun, gave the immortal message of karma, knowledge and yoga to mankind. He has said about Yoga in Geeta that Yoga: Karmasu Kaushal i.e. Yoga brings efficiency in actions. Therefore, when Yoga is discussed on the land of Kurukshetra, its importance increases even more. He said that this time the theme of International Yoga Day has been kept as Yoga for Healthy Old Age. This theme is the biggest need of today’s time, because the number of elderly people is continuously increasing here and the government has included the theme of drug-free yoga in the state.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his very first address in the General Assembly of the United Nations, had strongly advocated for celebrating International Yoga Day. Due to his great efforts, in the year 2014, a historic resolution was passed by the United Nations General Assembly and June 21 was declared International Yoga Day. At that time 177 countries supported this proposal and today Yoga Day is celebrated in more than 200 countries. Thus, once again yoga has become a part of people’s lifestyle.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the Prime Minister has inspired people to do Yoga on Yoga Day and said that when we start living Yoga, Yoga Day becomes a medium of auspicious celebration of our health, joy and peace. He said that when the whole world does yoga on International Yoga Day, they are not just doing exercise but are living the spirit of India’s Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Today, from the sacred ground of knowledge and devotion, we are taking forward the same global consciousness. He said that Yoga is a complete science to live a healthy, happy and peaceful life. This is the art of living, that is why it is said that do yoga every day, stay healthy throughout your life.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the government has taken the initiative to inspire the new generation for yoga training and yoga practice in Haryana, the land of Vedas, Upanishads and Geeta. The government has included yoga education as a compulsory subject from class 1 to 10. Yoga is also being taught in schools, colleges and universities of the state. Yoga clubs have also been established in the state. Haryana Yoga Commission has been formed to promote yoga. He said that Shri Krishna Ayush University has been established in Kurukshetra to promote Yoga and Ayurveda. In the budget of this financial year, a provision of Rs 135 crore has been made for the construction of the building of this university.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the government is committed to opening gymnasiums in 6500 villages of the state. Of these, construction of 883 has been completed and 859 Ayush Yoga assistants have been appointed. 397 Ayush dispensaries and 109 sub-health centers of the state have been upgraded to Ayushman Arogya Mandir. Of these, 156 yoga instructors have been appointed. He said that National Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy has been established in Panchkula and Post Graduate Yoga and Naturopathy and Research Institute has been established in Devarkhana village of Jhajjar district. He has made a provision in the budget of this financial year to introduce daily yoga break for employees in all industrial units. He said that similarly, to provide a better life to senior citizens, a provision has also been made to organize weekly health campaigns for them in Ayushman Arogya temples.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will get the citizens to pledge and will actively contribute in building a healthy Haryana, prosperous Haryana and developed India. Along with this, under the ‘Ek Tree Maa Ka Naam’ campaign, we will plant a sapling and also nurture it.
Director General of AYUSH Department, Sanjeev Verma also addressed on this occasion. Vice Chancellor of Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Kurukshetra, Prof. Kartar Singh Dhiman gave detailed information about the university.
