Udaipur. As part of the ongoing 50-day Yoga Countdown program to commemorate the upcoming International Yoga Day 2026, a grand rehearsal of group yoga protocol was organized on the sail of Fatehsagar on Sunday morning. In this program organized under the joint aegis of District Administration and AYUSH Department, more than 300 yoga practitioners, students, women, senior citizens and representatives of various social organizations enthusiastically participated and practiced yoga collectively. The need of the hour is to assimilate yoga into daily life: Prof. Kailash Daga: Professor Kailash Daga, Vice Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, participated in the program as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he said that in today’s busy lifestyle, it has become very important to assimilate yoga in daily life. Regular yoga practice not only keeps a person physically healthy and energetic, but also makes him mentally positive and balanced. Yoga coordinator and assistant nodal officer Vaidya Dr. Shobhalal Audichya said that this year the main theme of International Yoga Day has been set as “Yoga for healthy old age”. According to the common yoga protocol, various yogasanas, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra were practiced sequentially on the sail of Fatehsagar.
This minute-to-minute rehearsal was done with the technical support of Dr. Shubha Surana, Rimjhim Sharma, Shweta Sharma and Pooja Sharma of Pacific University. Yoga instructors gave detailed information to the participants about the correct method of yoga asanas, precautions to be taken and the health benefits of them.
Special attraction: 300 nests distributed for environment and bird conservation. Along with health benefits, a unique message of nature conservation was also given in this yoga camp. As a special attraction of the program, more than 300 artificial nests of birds were distributed free of cost by social worker Krishna Gopal Gurjar to the yoga practitioners and general public who reached Fatehsagar. Through this commendable initiative, an effort was made to increase public awareness towards bird conservation and environmental protection in this scorching summer season, which was taken advantage of by many animal and bird lovers including Amit Sharma, Sapna Audichya.
Active cooperation of various social and yoga organizations
Assistant Director of AYUSH Department, Bhanu Kumar Jain said that through this 50-day campaign, awareness about yoga is being awakened in the entire district. He called for maximum participation in the main event to be held on 21st June.
