The Students’ Union on Saturday took out a Freedom march for the release of the accused of Delhi riots at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), the premiere educational institution of Delhi, the country’s capital. The JNU Students’ Union took a march from Ganga Dhaba to Sabarmati Dhaba in the campus and shouted slogans to release the accused of Delhi riots. Omar Khalid, Gulfisha Fatima and Sharjil Imam did not get bail from the trial court. The Delhi High Court also rejected the bail application of all the accused of Delhi riot in the past. After which Umar Khalid, Gulfisha Fatima and Shaziil Imam have applied in the Supreme Court for bail.
The Supreme Court will hear the bail application of Omar Khalid, Gulfisha Fatima and Sharjil Imam on September 19. Demonstrations started in Delhi to protest against the CAA law.
