Jodhpur. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat expressed confidence in the youth power of the country and gave a strong message to the opposition and other political parties. He clearly said that the youth of India was never, nor is, nor will ever be a puppet. On Sunday, Shekhawat met the media at Circuit House. On the question related to youth, Shekhawat said that India is a country of youth. Our government is fully committed to creating youth power, empowering them and providing them equal opportunities. Today, through many ambitious schemes like ‘Mudra Yojana’, ‘Startup India’ and ‘Standup India’, new opportunities are being created for the youth, so that new dimensions can be created for them. They should play an active part in the progress of the country by taking the economy forward. Clarifying the situation on the increase in the prices of domestic gas cylinders, the Union Minister said that this has happened not due to the will of any government, but due to a huge global challenge and international crisis. Citing global figures, he said that at present the prices of petroleum products have increased by 30 percent to 130 percent across the world, while the prices of LPG and CNG have increased by 30 percent to 300 percent across the world. Due to this international crisis, the entire global supply chain has been disrupted, which is affecting all the countries.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shekhawat said that even amidst this global outcry, India is among the few countries in the world where the total growth in prices has been less than 10 percent. The government is continuously investing its resources so that the entire burden of this crisis does not fall on the general public and mothers and sisters of the country.
The Union Minister made a sharp retort to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Andaman and Nicobar and his statement that it was damaging the culture and environment there. Shekhawat said that Rahul Gandhi ji should first learn the ‘S’ of culture, only then he should comment on such national and cultural things.
...Gehlot brings out the genie from the bottle
The Union Minister faced a tough legal and political siege on the West Bengal election results and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s ‘horse trading’ statements. He said that in Bengal, the people have blessed the BJP to form the government with a strong majority of more than two-thirds, in such a situation, what would be the need for the Bharatiya Janata Party to do horse trading there?
Taking aim at Ashok Gehlot, Union Minister Shekhawat said that he is trying to take out the old genie of Rajasthan from the bottle by making the excuse of Bengal. Referring to the history of the last 10 years, he said that whenever the Congress high command thinks of giving any new responsibility or post to Sachin Pilot ji, at that very moment Gehlot Saheb brings out the genie from this bottle to block his path.
Gehlot Saheb should clear his stand on corruption.
On the claim of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in which he had said that Rs 10 crore each were given to the MLAs and they were not even returned, Shekhawat surrounded him by giving legal arguments. He asked that if the MLAs had taken money, would it not fall in the category of corruption? If Gehlot Saheb was aware of this when he was the Chief Minister, then why did he not take action? The Judicial Code of India and the ‘Anti Corruption Act’ clearly state that if a responsible person gets information about corruption and does not take action, then he is equally guilty under the law. Gehlot Saheb should now clear his stand in front of the public as to why he did not take action.
Sensitivity is necessary on the statue of freedom fighter

He appealed for sensitivity on the incident of breaking the statue of freedom fighter Fatehraj Kalla ji in Jodhpur. Shekhawat said that when a structure or building becomes dilapidated and becomes victim of an accident, then doing politics on it or making petty political comments is not at all appropriate. Revered Kalla ji was revered by the entire city. Our entire attention and efforts should be on ensuring that his grand statue is restored there with respect as soon as possible and such a situation does not arise again in the future.
Public hearing held at Circuit House
Shekhawat also held a public hearing at the Circuit House. He said that whenever he comes to his home town Jodhpur, meeting the people here, giving public hearing to them, listening to their problems and solving their issues is a part of his natural program of the day. Being a public representative, it is his utmost responsibility to work among his people and he is only fulfilling this responsibility.
