The month of February is about to end and March is about to start soon. If you are planning to complete any important banking work in March 2026, then this news is very useful for you. Even today, for many works we have to go to the bank branch ourselves. If the bank is closed, your work may get delayed. Therefore, it is important to know about the holidays in advance. According to the RBI website, banks will remain closed for a total of 18 days in March due to various reasons. Let’s take a look at the list of holidays:

When will banks be closed in March?

March 1 is a Sunday, so banks will remain closed across the country.

Banks will remain closed in Kanpur and Lucknow on March 2 due to Holika Dahan.

On March 3, due to Holi and its related festivals, banks will remain closed in many cities including Bhopal, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi. There will be a bank holiday in many cities on March 4 due to the second day of Holi and other festivals celebrated in different states. These include cities like Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Jammu, New Delhi, Raipur, Shillong and Shimla.
Due to March 8 being a Sunday, banks will remain closed across the country.
Banks will not open in Aizawl on March 13 due to Chapchar Kut.
March 14 is the second Saturday, hence banks will remain closed across the country. The next day, March 15, is Sunday, so all banks will be closed again.
Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on March 17 due to Shab-e-Qadr.
March 19 will be a bank holiday in many cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Srinagar due to festivals like Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and the beginning of Navratri. Banks will remain closed in Jammu, Kochi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada on March 20 due to Eid-ul-Fitr and Jumma-ul-Vida.

Banks will remain closed in most cities on March 21 due to Ramzan, Eid and Sarhul, although banks will remain open in some cities.

Due to March 22 being a Sunday, banks will remain closed across the country.

Banks will remain closed in many big cities on March 26 due to Ram Navami.

There will be a holiday in some states on 27th March also on the occasion of Ram Navami.

March 28 is the fourth Saturday and March 29 is Sunday, so banks will remain closed across the country on both days.

On March 31, the last day of the month, banks will remain completely closed in many cities due to Mahavir Jayanti.

So, if you have to do any banking related work in March, then plan your work keeping these dates in mind to avoid any trouble.
