Today is the 22nd day of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. As a result of this war, many countries are facing a crisis regarding the supply of LPG and crude oil. Due to the closure of the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ located in the Iran region, the supply of LPG and crude oil to many countries has been disrupted. In the last 24 hours, not a single crude oil tanker has passed through this vital waterway. Several ships are stranded inside the strait after Iran threatened to attack. Amidst this situation, a very good news has come for India. Two Indian LPG tankers have received the “green signal” to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and was not allowing ships to pass through there. However, a positive news for India is that two LPG tankers have now been allowed to pass through the strait. Latest information in this regard can be obtained through online search.

In particular, news agency Reuters—citing shipping data and informed sources—reported that two Indian-flagged LPG tankers are preparing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in the coming days. The agency also reported that no crude oil tankers had passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours. Since Iran threatened to attack ships, the movement of hundreds of ships in the region has come to a standstill. As a result, these vessels are currently avoiding attempting to exit the Gulf area via the Strait of Hormuz. It is noteworthy that about 20 percent of the world’s oil and LNG supply passes through the Strait of Hormuz.
