Indian Railways’ online ticket booking website IRCTC has been launched in a new and modern form. The new version of the website has been launched with an aim to improve the ticket booking experience of millions of passengers every day. At present, its beta version has been made live from 9 pm on July 15, 2026. The main focus of Railways regarding the new version is to make the ticket booking process easier, faster and user friendly. However, this is currently a beta version, so further changes will be made in it based on the feedback received from passengers.
Railway Minister had announced the launch of a new website
Last month, during his visit to Jaipur-based Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, while talking to students, had announced that the new website of IRCTC would be launched by July 15. Under this announcement, its new beta version has now been made available for the passengers. Railways says that the new website has been designed in such a way that passengers face minimum hassle while booking tickets and the ticketing process can be completed in less time.
Now you will not have to fill captcha again and again
The biggest relief to passengers in the new IRCTC website will be in the login and booking process. Now you will get rid of the annoying captcha again and again. With this, users will face less hassles while booking tickets. Apart from this, unnecessary pop-ups, flashy graphics and distracting elements have also been removed from the website. With this, the interface of the website will appear cleaner and simpler than before.
Seat availability of all classes will be visible simultaneously
Seat checking has also been made easier for passengers in the new website. Now there will be no need to search separately for Sleeper, Third AC, Second AC and other categories. Passengers will see the availability of seats in all classes on a single screen. This will save time and improve the ticket booking experience.
Booking steps will be reduced with ‘Faster Checkout’ feature
IRCTC has also added ‘Faster Checkout’ feature in the new website. Under this, many steps in the process of booking tickets have been reduced. Earlier, passengers had to complete many steps while booking tickets, due to which the process became lengthy. Now booking can be completed in fewer steps and the time taken to buy tickets will also reduce.
There will be further improvement based on passenger feedback
IRCTC has currently released it as a beta version. This means that the website is not fully finalized yet. Further improvements will be made based on the experience and suggestions of passengers. Railways is hoping that crores of passengers booking tickets daily through the new website will get better digital facilities. This initiative of IRCTC with new technology and easy interface is being considered as a big step towards making online railway ticketing more convenient.
