Preparations for the 2026 Budget Session: The all-party meeting called by the Central Government regarding the Budget Session 2026 started at 11 am in the Main Committee Room of the Parliament House in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The meeting was presided over by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. The objective of the meeting was to run the upcoming budget session smoothly and to appeal for cooperation from all parties.
Budget session will run in two phases
The government informed that the budget session of Parliament will be held in two phases. The first phase will run from January 28 to February 13, while the second phase is proposed from March 9 to April 2.
The session will begin with the address of President Draupadi Murmu. After this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey and on February 1, the Budget 2026-27 will be presented in the House.
Discussion on agenda and legislative work
In the meeting, the agenda of the budget session, the bills to be presented and the proceedings of the House were discussed in detail.
The government expected all the parties to provide constructive cooperation during the session, so that the important work can be completed on time.
Second meeting at Defense Minister’s residence
After the all-party meeting, information was given that another important meeting regarding the budget session will be held at the residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at 4 pm.
Many ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Bhupendra Yadav, Piyush Goyal and Lalan Singh will participate in it.
Participation of opposition and ruling party
In this meeting Congress’s Jairam Ramesh, Pramod Tiwari, Manickam Tagore, K. More than 26 leaders, including Suresh, SP’s Ramgopal Yadav, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, TMC’s Shatabdi Rai and AIADMK’s M. Thambi Durai participated.
Government’s appeal
The government said that it wants cooperation from all parties to keep the proceedings of Parliament smooth during the Budget Session.
Overall, the political stir regarding the Budget Session 2026 has intensified and all eyes are on the upcoming budget.
