If you have to do any important work related to the bank next week, then this news is important for you. In the coming week – specifically between June 22 and June 28, 2026 – private and public sector banks in different parts of the country will remain closed for four consecutive days. According to the official holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banking operations will remain closed for a total of 11 days in the month of June. This is due to national, regional and religious festivals as well as the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of the month. Therefore, before visiting the bank branch, please check the complete list of holidays.

When and where will banks remain closed next week?

Next week, from June 25 to June 28, banks will remain closed for four consecutive days. However, some of these holidays are regional:

June 25 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada on the occasion of Muharram.

June 26 (Friday): Banks will remain closed in most of the big cities of the country on this day. These include New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bhopal, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Nagpur, Belapur, Jammu, Srinagar, Agartala and Aizawl.

June 27 (Fourth Saturday): Due to the fourth Saturday, all private and government banks across the country will remain closed.

June 28 (Sunday): All banks across the country will remain closed due to weekly holiday.

Additionally, there are two regional holidays at the end of the month:

June 29 (Monday): Banks will remain closed in Shimla due to Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti.

June 30 (Tuesday): Banks will remain closed in Aizawl due to Ramna.

Are all banks closed on Saturday and Sunday?

According to RBI rules, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks of the country remain closed on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. Apart from this, all Sundays are weekly holidays in the bank. In June 2026, banks will be closed on a total of four Sundays (June 7, 14, 21 and 28) and two Saturdays (June 13 and 27).

**Digital services will continue despite closure of bank branches**

Customers do not have to worry about the bank’s physical branches being closed. Even during holidays, online and digital banking services will remain operational 24/7 across the country. You can send money or take payment to anyone using platforms like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or your bank’s official app. Online fund transfer facility will continue without any interruption. ATMs will remain open across the country for cash withdrawal and deposit.
