Today is the last trading session of the week, and GIFT Nifty is down 125 points, which shows a big gap-down opening for the market. The market was flat on Thursday, and Nifty closed at 25,496 with a marginal gain of 14 points. Talking about the global market, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed flat, while the tech-based Nasdaq index fell -1.18%. After Wednesday’s buying, foreign investors sold again yesterday. FIIs sold ₹3,466 crore in the cash market yesterday, while DIIs bought ₹5,032 crore.
What is the reason for the big selloff by FIIs?
Both FII buying and selling figures have increased in recent times.
FII action has increased on both sides.
Slight adjustment was also seen in yesterday’s selling due to Sensex monthly expiry. FIIs are not yet fully back.
FII buying is more out of compulsion, less out of strength.
It is good news that domestic funds have also increased their purchases.
Where is the strong market support?
Today, weekly closing above 25,400 is necessary.
For the last few days, Nifty has been closing near the Budget Day high of 25,440.
If it closes below 25,300, there is a risk of further weakness.
Then, the next support lies in the 24,825-25,075 range.
