“Stock Market Holiday” is the stock market open or closed today on Navratri? Learn whether there will be trading on NSE-BSE or not

Shardiya Navratri starts on Monday, 22 September 2025. New rates of GST will also be applicable from this day. In such a situation, the question is arising in the minds of many investors whether the Indian stock market National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will work normally on the first day of Navratri or will be closed?

Will the market be open?

According to the official holiday calendar of NSE and BSE, there is no market holiday on 22 September 2025. On this day, the stock markets will be usually open and all business sessions will be operated at regular time.

Business time on 22 September

Equity Market: 9:15 am to 3:30 pm

Pre-Open Session: 9:00 am to 9:15 pm

Derivatives (F&O), money market: as usual

This means that despite the onset of Navratri, investors and traders will be able to carry out all their business activities on 22 September without any hindrance.

Upcoming market holiday (September-October 2025)

Although the markets will remain open on September 22, the markets will remain closed on some important festivals. The details of these major holidays are as follows:

27 September 2025 (Saturday): Mahalaya Amavasya – Market closed

29 September 2025 (Monday): Durga Puja – Market closed

2 October 2025 (Thursday): Gandhi Jayanti – Market closed
