Today trading started with tremendous momentum in the domestic stock market. Hopes of a possible peace deal between the US and Iran have boosted global markets. On Friday, key market indices – Sensex and Nifty 50 – opened with gains of over 1 per cent. In the last trading session of the week, BSE Sensex opened 950 points (1.19%) higher at 74,788.27. Similarly, the NSE Nifty 50 index opened 250.95 points (1.08%) higher at 23,412.55. It is noteworthy that yesterday the market had closed with a decline.
**All 30 Sensex companies opened with gains**
On Friday, the fifth day of the week, shares of all 30 Sensex companies opened with gains. It is a rare occurrence for any Sensex company to start trading with gains. At the same time, 49 out of 50 Nifty companies opened with gains, while only one company opened with a decline. Among Sensex companies, Tata Steel (part of Tata Group) opened the highest with a gain of 2.84 per cent, while UltraTech Cement opened the lowest with a gain of 0.53 per cent.
Indigo and L&T opened strongly
Among other stocks, IndiGo opened up 2.18%, followed by L&T (2.00%), Eternal (1.89%), SBI (1.83%), Tech Mahindra (1.50%), HDFC Bank (1.40%), BEL (1.37%), Bajaj Finserv (1.37%), Bajaj Finance (1.34%), HCL Tech (1.30%), Reliance Industries (1.29%), Axis Bank (1.20%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.18%), Power Grid (1.13%), NTPC (1.05%) and Bharti Airtel (1.00%).
Shares of these companies opened with a gain of less than 1.00%. Apart from this, Adani Ports shares opened 0.99% higher on Friday, followed by Hindustan Unilever (0.94%), Asian Paints (0.94%), Trent (0.93%), Maruti Suzuki (0.82%), ICICI Bank (0.77%), Sun Pharma (0.76%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.76%), TCS (0.69%), Infosys (0.65%), Titan (0.63%) and ITC (0.58%).
