Despite heavy buying by domestic and foreign investors on Wednesday, Nifty closed at 25,482, up just 58 points. On Wednesday, both FII and DII made big purchases, raising the question as to who sold. Yesterday, FIIs bought ₹2,991 crore in the cash market, while DIIs bought ₹5,118 crore. IT, Metal and Pharma were the biggest contributors to yesterday’s rally. At present, both the market trend and sentiment appear neutral.
What will drive the market rally?
The markets were very weak at the beginning of the series. Nifty saw lowest rollover in 22 months since May 2024.
The open interest of Nifty also fell rapidly.
FII positions exceeded 20% for the first time in the 7 series.
The March series is generally positive for the market.
