Ranchi: Joint entrance competitive examination for admission to B.Ed, M.Ed and BP.Ed courses in Jharkhand will be held on Saturday, May 31. More than 45 thousand candidates from across the state are likely to appear in the examination. It is being organized by Jharkhand Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB).
The exam will be held from 10:30 am to 12:30 noon. Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centers from 9 am. No candidate will be allowed to enter the center after 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination i.e. 10:15 am.
A total of 94 examination centers have been set up for the examination in eight districts of the state—Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dumka, Palamu, Hazaribagh and Chaibasa. Of these, maximum 30 centers have been established in Ranchi.
The Joint Entrance Examination will be conducted in offline mode on OMR sheets. 100 multiple choice questions will be asked in the question paper. One mark is assigned for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the examination. After this, enrollment of successful candidates will be done in government and non-government B.Ed colleges of the state. There is to be enrollment for about 13,600 seats in 136 B.Ed colleges of the state for the academic session 2026-28.
Security and administrative preparations have been completed at all the centers regarding the examination. The council has advised the candidates to reach the examination center on time and bring the prescribed identity card along with the admit card.
