Rajasthan SOG has taken major action in the much talked about NEET paper leak case and has exposed the organized network spread across the country. Investigation has revealed that the network of paper leak gang was spread from Sikar and Jaipur in Rajasthan to Gurugram, Dehradun, Nashik and Kerala. According to sources, after continuous raids and technical investigation of SOG, many important links of this racket have come to light. The investigating agency suspects that this gang was working for a long time to leak papers in competitive examinations and extort huge amounts of money from the candidates.
SOG investigation has found evidence of financial transactions, call records and digital chats between several suspects. It is being told that the gang used to deliver question papers to the students through agents active in different states. Sikar in Rajasthan is considered to be an important center of this network, where a large number of students preparing for coaching and competitive examinations come. The investigating agencies are also trying to find out how many people associated with the education sector and medical community were involved in this network.
According to sources, lakhs of rupees were charged from the candidates for paper leak. In some cases, allegations of providing question papers to students before the examination as well as providing “safe examination centres” and other facilities have also come to light. SOG teams have raided different states and interrogated many suspects. It is believed that more arrests may be made in the coming days.
After this matter came to light, questions have been raised about the transparency and security of the examination system across the country. There is an atmosphere of resentment among lakhs of students and parents, because the continuous paper leak cases in competitive examinations have increased the concern over the future of the youth. Currently, Rajasthan SOG is engaged in the financial and technical investigation of the entire network and many big revelations are expected in this matter.
