The Uttar Pradesh government has reviewed the preparations for the board examinations of 2026. In view of the high school and intermediate examinations starting from February 18, the authorities have directed that security arrangements and other necessary arrangements should be completed on time. This year, the examinations for class 10th and 12th will be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education from February 18 to March 12. The examinations will be held in two shifts across the state.

Exam Timings and Schedule

According to the official notification, the first shift will run from 8:30 am to 11:45 am, while the second shift will run from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. Class 10 exam will start with Hindi, followed by Computer paper. An online meeting was held to review the preparations, which was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma. Senior officials of the Education Department, Director and Board Secretary were also present in it. In the meeting, instructions were given for regular inspection of the command and control room and exam centers set up at the district level. Officials said the center should have ample furniture, clean toilets, water and electricity.

Tight security at the exam center

The government has ordered to deploy armed police forces in the control rooms of all exam centres. District School Inspectors have been directed to ensure that the details of the staff on exam duty are properly recorded in the control room and all arrangements are completed on time. Instructions have also been given to thoroughly check the invigilators posted in the rooms and their identity cards. Flying squads have been instructed to keep special vigil at sensitive centers to prevent any disturbance.

Security of question paper and answer sheet

The Board Secretary has also given instructions to increase security in the rooms where question papers and answer sheets are kept. He has also given instructions to take immediate legal action against the rumors spreading on social media regarding the exam. Instructions have also been given that after the completion of the exam, the answer sheet should be safely delivered to the designated center.

Board’s advice for students

The board has advised students to focus only on revision in the last days. They have been asked to solve model papers, review their notes and discuss doubts with teachers. They have also been advised not to start new subjects at the last moment, maintain regular routine, get adequate sleep and have a balanced diet. According to the board, students will have to reach the exam center on time and those coming late will not be allowed inside. Important centers will be monitored through CCTV cameras. The board has also advised students to avoid stress and focus on their preparation instead of comparing themselves with others. If needed, students can contact their parents or teachers. 24-hour helplines are also available for help: 14416 and 800-891-4416.
