Ranchi: State RJD spokesperson Kailash Yadav has said that the meeting held by the high profile committee regarding inclusion of Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili and Angika languages in the JET examination in the state was in public interest and state interest. In the special committee meeting, concerned officials have been instructed to gather facts and evidence and present them.
Bhojpuri and Magahi languages with Maithili mixture are spoken in Palamu division of the state and Angika language is spoken extensively in Santhal division. Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Koderma and Giridih have a large population speaking other languages including Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili and Angika. RJD spokesperson Kailash Yadav has said that Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili and Angika are a matter of linguistic culture and identity. Its eligibility has been almost consistently ignored by some authorities.
The government is facing strong opposition as suggested by allies for not including Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili and Angika languages in the JET exam. RJD welcomes the positive stance taken by the committee on this issue in the meeting. It is expected that soon a concrete decision will be taken regarding the permanent recognition of Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili and Angika languages in public interest and state interest.
