The Red Fort of Delhi is not only the pride and pride of the Mughal rule, but also the invaluable heritage of Indian history and culture. It covers the stories of independence of India and is also a witness to the pride of Independence Day, a symbol of freedom. On Independence Day, the tricolor is hoisted gracefully at the Red Fort. Let us know how the Red Fort became a part of the stories of freedom?

On Wednesday, gold and silver prices in the country once again registered a boom. According to the All India Bullion Association, gold with 99.9 percent purity rose by Rs 200 to Rs 99,020 per 10 grams. At the same time, the price of silver also gained Rs 500 and it closed at Rs 1,12,500 per kg.

Gold closed at Rs 98,820 and silver at Rs 1,12,000. Apart from this, gold with 99.5 percent purity also reached Rs 100 to Rs 98,600 per 10 grams, which was at Rs 98,500 on the previous business day. According to experts, gold prices are being supported by continuous purchases of investors and stockists at the domestic level. At the same time, weakness in rupee has also contributed to the strength of gold in the domestic market.

Jatin Trivedi, vice -president of LKP Securities, said that gold fell from $ 3,360 on comex due to weakness in international markets, causing gold to fall by Rs 500 to Rs 1,00,800 per 10 grams in the domestic market. However, domestic prices have supported domestic prices due to a fall in rupee. According to him, technically the price of gold is now indicating fatigue at the level of Rs 1,01,000 and $ 3,400 an ounce. In the coming days, its prices may be between Rs 98,500 to Rs 1,02,000 per 10 grams.

In the international market, the spot gold fell 0.52 per cent to $ 3,363.35 an ounce on Wednesday. At the same time, the spot silver also fell 0.12 per cent to close at $ 37.76 an ounce. Despite this, prices in the domestic market increased due to weak rupee and strong demand.

The Red Fort was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. Its old name was Kila-e-Mubarak. This fort, built in almost a decade, was a symbol of the power and splendor of the emperor. This unmatched sample of Mughal architecture shows a mixture of Persian, Taimuri and Hindu styles.

The most important thing is that this fort was originally made in white color. Then the walls of this fort and many other parts were formed with white lime and marble, making it appear as a bright white fort. When the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan made Shahjahanabad his capital, he settled this fort as a Mughal palace complex.

This fort of Delhi witnesses the revolt of 1857

In 1857, when dissatisfaction spread among Indian soldiers against the British East India Company and the first freedom struggle started after that, this fort of Shah Jahan eventually became the center of this rebellion. The revolutionaries sought support from the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar in this fort. In fact, seeing the rebellion of Indian soldiers, the British soldiers started running towards Delhi. The rebels also followed him. The revolutionaries sought support from the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar in this fort.

The rebels, who reached Delhi, requested the Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar to lead the rebellion. Also, he was declared his king. Finally Bahadur Shah Zafar accepted his request and declared himself independent of the British. However, the rebels lost in the war with the East India Company and the company was again captured by the company. The British tried to destroy and rob the fort. Bahadur Shah ran towards Zafar Humayun’s tomb. Then he surrendered. The British prosecuted him and convicted him and sent him to Burma on a bullock cart. His two sons and a grandson were killed. Despite this, this fort remained a symbol of unity of Indians.

The British got it repaired and it was made a Red Fort

When the British took over the fort after the first freedom struggle, they took care of it in their own way. Over time, white lime walls began to deteriorate. For this reason, the British repaired this fort in the 19th-20th century. The walls of the fort were painted red. This led to the protection of the fort and due to the use of red sandstone, it became famous as the Red Fort.

The tricolor was hoisted for the first time after independence

After a long battle with the British, when the country became independent on 15 August 1947, the Red Fort once again became a symbol of India’s freedom and pride. After the declaration of independence, the British flag was launched from the ramparts of this Red Fort after a long time. The first Prime Minister of the country Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the national flag tricolor for the first time from the ramparts of this Red Fort and with this India’s independence started. Since then it has been seen as the center of stories of freedom and power. Since then, every year on August 15, the Prime Minister of India hoists the tricolor from the ramparts of the Red Fort and addresses the country. They describe the achievements of their country and present the future accounts to the country. It is here that colorful celebrations related to Independence Day are held.

Symbol of country’s freedom and sovereignty

Now the Red Fort not only holds historical significance, but also makes its huge ramparts and Diwan-e-Aam suitable for national celebrations. That is why the parade starts from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Republic Day and ends at the Red Fort. Presently, the Red Fort has become a popular tourist destination of the country along with narrating stories of Indian independence. Today it has become a symbol of freedom and sovereignty of the country. In 2007, UNESCO included it in its list of World Heritage Sites.

It is the center of attraction for tourists
The Durbar Hall of the Red Fort was called Diwan-e-Aam, where the Mughal emperors met the people during their reign and discussed public issues. In addition, Diwan-e-Khas was a private court hall, where the emperors used to meet special guests and courtiers. This fort had a palace for royal women, which was called Rang Mahal.

The garden of the Red Fort built in the Charbagh style of Mughal architecture was known as Hayat Baksh Bagh. The fort also has a white marble mosque built in the 17th century, which was called Moti Masjid. Today these are the center of attraction for all tourists. Apart from these, many museums have been built in this fort, including historical artifacts, weapons, paintings and other items. Now every evening there is a light and sound show in the Red Fort, which shows the history and architecture of the Red Fort.
